Our Next Project Plan
Sitio Senamfledon, Santa Fe, South Upi, Maguindanao is a far flung , mountainous community dominated by Indigenous Peoples—about 71 kilometers away from the City of Cotabato with rough roads going to the site. Because of its distance from the main center, the community has lesser access to development including the provision of good classrooms for school children. We are proposing construction of a one-story school building.
The Current Situation
In the area, there are almost a hundred IP school children holding classes in shanties built by the assigned teacher. The said rooms utilized by school children do not provide comfort to them and it affects their learning.
The Proposed Building
The proposed building will have three rooms that will be comfortable for the children. The children will also have immediate access to bathrooms. We also look forward to providing tables and chairs for the children as well as the school staff.
Upon the completion of this project, the proponent NGO shall formally turn over the project to the school administration. In this manner, the school administration will be in charge of long-term care and maintenance of the building. This project will benefit at least a hundred school children.
Our Partnerships
This proposed project shall be in partnership with the Women’s Organization of Rajah Mamalu Descendants (WORMD), a community-based women’s organization who work with the community and provide community outreach programs in the municipality of South Upi.
